Transformations

Transformations describe how shapes can be moved, turned, flipped or resized on a coordinate grid. At GCSE, the main transformations are translations, rotations, reflections and enlargements, including enlargements with fractional scale factors and negative scale factor enlargements.

Explore our transformations worksheets, guides and interactive resources to practise recognising and describing transformations, carrying them out accurately, and working with centres of rotation and enlargement, vectors and lines of reflection. Questions progress from straightforward single transformations to more challenging GCSE problems involving precise descriptions and combinations of ideas.
